Background of the study
Employee training and development programs are recognized as strategic tools for fostering organizational growth and competitiveness. In the Benin Industrial Hub, firms have increasingly invested in training initiatives to equip their workforce with relevant skills and competencies (Osagie, 2023). This study examines the effectiveness of these programs and their impact on organizational growth. The rapid pace of technological change and market dynamics necessitates continuous learning and skill upgrading. Companies in Egor have implemented various training models, including on-the-job training, workshops, and digital learning platforms, to enhance employee performance (Ibeh, 2024). This research investigates the correlation between employee development initiatives and measurable organizational outcomes such as productivity, innovation, and market expansion. It also explores the challenges in implementing effective training programs and how these challenges affect growth trajectories. By integrating empirical data with current theoretical frameworks, the study aims to provide actionable insights that can drive strategic human resource development and organizational success (Eze, 2023).
Statement of the problem
Organizations in the Benin Industrial Hub face challenges in aligning training and development programs with strategic growth objectives (Adesina, 2023). Inadequate training methods and insufficient investment in employee development have led to suboptimal performance and stagnation in organizational growth. Despite the recognized benefits of continuous learning, gaps in program implementation and evaluation persist. This study aims to identify the deficiencies in current training practices and examine their impact on organizational performance, with a view to recommending strategies for more effective employee development (Olu, 2024).
